The Papillon Caravan: An Adventure on the Roads of Quebec
The Papillon Caravan offers youth with disabilities the chance to explore a region of Quebec through an “adapted road trip.” Participants enjoy unique adventures, meeting new people, and discovering themselves along the way.
A Unique Travel Experience in Quebec!
Ten individuals with disabilities embark on a 10-day road trip. For them, it’s more than just a vacation—it’s an opportunity to be tourists like everyone else, without their disabilities limiting their experience.
This adapted road trip provides participants with a vastly different vacation experience than they’re used to: adapting to the unexpected, maintaining a steady pace, and changing accommodations and activity locations.
Participants demonstrate teamwork, independence, openness, and flexibility. Watching them thrive in this environment is truly inspiring. They return from their trip transformed, ready to rejoin their families, who also benefit from a rare and precious respite during those 10 days. The Papillon Caravan positively impacts the development of adaptive tourism. Its presence in various locations raises awareness among locals, communities, and suppliers about the importance of accessibility and adaptation. Throughout the journey, people they meet learn that living with a disability doesn’t prevent someone from discovering new places. Our travelers share the same energy and curiosity as everyone else: the Papillon Caravan proves that nothing is impossible!
