Papillon Residence Respite Stays

While exact wait times are hard to predict, you can expect a wait of approximately 6 months. We strive to provide prompt service to users and parents.
Please bring the user’s medications and personal belongings, such as clothes, incontinence underwear, and toiletries. The Papillon Residence provides meals, snacks, bedding, soap, and shampoo.
We accept payments via Interac e-Transfer, credit card, check, direct deposit, or cash. Payment plans in multiple installments can be arranged.
Yes. An RL-24 slip will be sent to you before the end of February for the previous year’s attendance at the Papillon Residence. The Social Insurance Number (SIN) and residential address of the person responsible for the user are required for issuing the RL-24 slip.
Weekend Respite Stays at Camp Papillon

From Friday at 7 PM to Sunday at 3 PM.
You need to bring the user’s medications and personal items: clothing, incontinence underwear, toiletries, etc. A detailed list will be sent to you upon confirmation of the stay.

Papillon Day Center
Sers can attend up to three days a week, subject to availability.
- A packed lunch, containing their midday meal and snacks
- Spare clothing
- If necessary, incontinence underwear and sanitary products.
Users can arrive from 9 am and must depart by 4 pm.
Yes, transportation planning is the responsibility of parents.
Camp Papillon
- Pre-registration: Complete the online form. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis. However, pre-registered camper files undergo a thorough review by our Day Camp management and care team to ensure we can meet each camper’s specific needs. Pre-registration is the initial step, and it does not guarantee automatic placement.

- Official registration for campers granted a spot.
Generally, we accept campers from the age of 5, but exceptions may be considered after evaluation by management.
There is no age limit.
Campers with physical and/or intellectual disabilities or those living with autism spectrum disorder can join us at Camp Papillon, regardless of their level of autonomy.
Yes, subject to availability. Our goal is to accommodate as many campers as possible. No, but subject to availability, you can rent a cottage on our site to be close to your child.

Accommodation fees are refundable only if the cancellation deadline is met. However, Camp Papillon may grant a partial refund for medical reasons, in certain cases only. Medical proof will be required.

Is it possible to receive financial assistance?
- The Papillon Foundation automatically provides financial aid based on the camper’s family income. Our rates are adjusted accordingly.
- The Benny&Co. Foundation also offers stays at Camp Papillon to certain campers. For details, contact Laury Guérin-Michaud, User Records Manager at 514 937-6171, ext. 229.
- Camp Papillon is a host camp for Destination C.A.M.P., an initiative of l’Association des Camps du Québec (ACQ) that enables free camp stays for young people aged 11 to 17.

Papillon Daycare
- Your reduced-rate placement includes access to 10 continuous hours of childcare per day, for a maximum of 261 days per year.
- 2 snacks.
- Lunch.
- Educational materials for your child’s use during daycare hours.
- If a child shows symptoms of a contagious illness or is unwell and unable to participate in activities, parents must immediately notify Papillon Daycare’s management, and the child will not be able to attend daycare during this period.
- If a child develops symptoms while at Papillon Daycare, parents will be notified and must come to collect them. A 24-hour symptom-free period must be observed before the child can return to daycare.
Yes. As per the contract, parents must pay the daily contribution if the child is absent, whether due to illness, vacation, or other reasons.
- All food served at the Papillon Daycare is peanut-free.
- We offer both meat and vegetarian meals.
- Meals are pureed on-site for children who require it.
On the first day, we ask parents to leave the child for a period of 2 hours. After the initial integration day, we discuss with the parent to determine if the child is ready to attend daycare full-time.
The Papillon Daycare holds a permit from the Ministry of Families allowing it to accommodate 18 children with special needs. Their integration into daycare is facilitated by a caring team of educators, a specialized educator, an occupational therapist, and an on-call nurse.

To enroll your child at Papillon Daycare, you must first visit the La place 0-5, the sole gateway to recognized daycare spaces in Quebec. You will then need to create an account to access the registration form and your child’s file.
Papillon Occupational Therapy and Stimulation Clinic
- Assessment (2 sessions required): $150 per session
- Assessment report: $300
We provide receipts for sessions at our clinic, but please check with your insurer for coverage details.
We accept payment via Interac e-Transfer, credit card, or cash.
Cancellation fees may apply for appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice or for no-shows.
Papillon Day Camp

However, the pre-registered files must be reviewed by the Camp Director to ensure we can meet the individual’s specific needs. Pre-registration is only the first step and does not automatically guarantee a spot.

- Official Registration: Individuals who are allocated spots will be officially registered.
Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Before and after care is available from 8 AM to 9 AM and from 4 PM to 5 PM (limited spots available).
We generally accept children and youth from 4 to 25 years old.
The camp is open to youth with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, as well as those with autism spectrum disorders.
During registration, please indicate your preferred weeks (in order of preference) and those you are not interested in. Our goal is to assist as many families as possible, so we aim to offer a spot for 4 weeks to each enrolled child. Additional weeks may be granted based on availability.
A cold lunch with an ice pack, two snacks, a water bottle, a swimsuit and towel, a hat or cap, sunscreen, and a change of clothes.

Adaptive Tourism
The Papillon Caravan is currently on pause. We will share updates on our website and social media channels when new information is available.
Since 2014, the Papillon Caravan has explored the Saguenay, Lac Saint-Jean, Gaspésie, Ontario, and the Eastern Townships.
Our travelers showcased their adventurous spirit by participating in activities such as adaptive skiing, a gold rush simulation, observing the Perseids at the Mont-Mégantic ASTROlab, and enjoying the Amazoo water park at the Granby Zoo.
