CAMP PAPILLON SUMMER STAYS AND PAPILLON RESPITES - LANAUDIÈRE
A Summer That Could Change Your Life
Are you 16 years old or older? Are you looking for more than just a summer job?
At Camp Papillon, you will live a meaningful human experience, develop practical skills, make a real difference in the lives of people living with disabilities, and become part of a close-knit, dedicated and supportive team.
Located in Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez, in the Lanaudière region, Camp Papillon welcomes more than 300 campers each summer. To provide them with a safe, stimulating and adapted stay, we rely on a committed and supportive team made up of coordinators, camp counsellors, activity specialists, group leaders, nurses, care attendants, night staff and support personnel.
All team members receive comprehensive training before the start of the sessions. These trainings are offered free of charge and are paid.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE – SUMMER 2026
CAMP COUNSELLOR
Ensures the well-being of campers under their responsibility through dynamic leadership and hygiene and comfort care adapted to their needs.
OVERNIGHT COUNSELLOR
Monitors and ensures basic care, well-being and safety of campers during the night.
ACTIVITY SPECIALIST
Designs and leads adapted outdoor, sports, creative expression, stimulation and arts activities. Also participates in daily camp life during wake-up, meal and bedtime routines.
LIFEGUARD
Plans and leads aquatic activities. Supervises swimming periods, ensures beach maintenance and oversees the proper operation of boat rentals.
Candidates must hold a valid National Lifeguard certification (proof required).
GROUP LEADER
Ensures the well-being of campers while supervising the team of counsellors assigned to their group. Acts as a guide in matters of care and activity leadership. Provides personalized follow-up with parents.
WORK INTEGRATION PROGRAM SUPERVISOR
Supervises participants in the work integration program. Prepares and leads weekly workshops based on needs, creates adapted visual tools and schedules, intervenes as required and communicates with external partners. Experience in intervention is required. Students in Special Care Counselling (TES) are welcome.
TROOP COORDINATOR
Ensures the well-being of campers while supervising the team of group leaders. Oversees and supports teams in the field.
REGISTERED NURSE (DAY / EVENING)
Provides required medical care, responds to emergencies on site and fully integrates into camp life.
Must be an active member of the OIIQ or OIIAQ (proof required).
HEALTH CARE ATTENDANT
Provides required care to campers under their responsibility and fully integrates into camp life.
DISHWASHER
Washes dishes and performs dishwashing duties, ensures the cleanliness of the cafeteria and kitchen and may assist with meal service. Must be at least 15 years old as of June 19, 2026.
KITCHEN ASSISTANT
Assists the chef in meal preparation, participates in meal service and maintains kitchen cleanliness.
HOUSEKEEPING ATTENDANT
Responsible for cleaning rental cabins and camp buildings.
COOK
Located in Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez in the Lanaudière region, CAMP PAPILLON is one of the largest adapted summer camps in North America. Open year-round, it welcomes campers living with disabilities for summer camp stays and offers weekend respite stays throughout the rest of the year. Since 1938, more than 100,000 individuals have experienced an unforgettable stay in a safe, enchanting environment adapted to their needs.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the authority of Camp Management, the Cook is responsible for all kitchen operations. They plan, organize, and supervise meal preparation while ensuring rigorous management of human, material, and financial resources.
The Cook supervises Kitchen Assistants as well as Service and Dishwashing Attendants and ensures proper team management.
Specifically, the Kitchen Assistant:
- Oversees all kitchen activities;
- Develops varied, balanced menus adapted to group needs (allergies, dietary restrictions, vegetarian options, texture modifications);
- Plans and supervises meal preparation;
- Manages orders and monitors inventory;
- Plans food rotation and optimizes the use of supplies, including donated food items;
- Ensures strict management of the food budget and compliance with established cost guidelines;
- Ensures cleanliness and proper hygiene of facilities;
- Participates in kitchen equipment maintenance in collaboration with the Kitchen Assistant responsible for maintenance;
- Supervises and supports Kitchen Assistants, Service Attendants, and Dishwashing Staff;
- Plans schedules according to attendance and operational needs;
- Fosters a respectful, efficient, and collaborative work environment;
- Manages time, unforeseen situations, and kitchen pressure;
- Respects the vision of Camp Papillon and the Foundation;
- Respects camp regulations and leads by example;
- Participates in meetings with management;
- Performs any other related tasks.

KITCHEN ASSISTANT

Under the supervision of the Cook, the Kitchen Assistant collaborates in meal preparation and ensures the smooth operation of food services. They contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment in order to provide quality service.
Specifically, the Kitchen Assistant:
- Assists with food preparation (cutting, portioning, basic prep);
- Prepares the dining room before meals;
- Sets up and arranges serving tables;
- Refills the beverage dispenser (juice) and ensures proper operation;
- Participates in meal service;
- Cleans the service area before and after each meal;
- Helps maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and cafeteria;
- Respects all hygiene and sanitation standards in effect;
- Applies safety guidelines and established procedures;
- Performs any other related tasks necessary for the proper functioning of the kitchen sector.

CAMP COUNSELLOR

COORDINATOR
Ensures the well-being of participants while supervising the team of group leaders. Oversees and supports teams in the field. Completes administrative tasks related to day camp preparation and management duties requiring supervision of staff and participants. Provides personalized follow-up with parents. (Position begins in early June.).
HEALTH CARE ATTENDANT
Provides required care (medication administration, enteral feeding, etc.) to participants under their supervision and fully integrates into day camp life.
Asset: Bill 90 certification, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or studies in the health field.
PAPILLON RESPITE STAYS - MONTRÉAL AND PAPILLON DAY CENTER FOR ADULTS
Health Care Attendants
Fondation Papillon, a non-profit organization, is a hub of resources and support for individuals with disabilities, their families and community stakeholders. It offers adapted services enabling people with special needs to reach their full potential, as well as meeting the needs of their families.
Répits Papillon – Montréal is a peaceful haven offering weekend respite stays for individuals living with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, or with autism spectrum disorder. In fully renovated facilities located in downtown Montreal, a dedicated team of animators and nursing staff welcomes up to 14 users aged 3 and over in a safe, warm, and family-oriented environment. Stays are organized by age group.
We are currently seeking Health Care Attendants for Répits Papillon – Montréal.
ROLE
Under the supervision of the administrative team and the nursing care coordinator, you will actively contribute to the well-being of our users. You will be responsible for administering medication, providing hygiene care, supporting daily living activities (ADLs), and coordinating certain logistical aspects related to care.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Administer and distribute medication.
- Manage the clinic’s inventory:
-
- Check and reorganize medical supplies;
- Take inventory of care products.

- Assist users in their daily living activities (ADLs) while respecting their autonomy:
-
- Provide hygiene care;
- Assist with dressing, depending on users’ abilities (partial or total assistance);
- Help with mobility;
- Assist with feeding (appropriate textures, thickened liquids, allergies, intolerances, feeding those who require it).

- Support users during activities (when available, outside of care periods) and encourage participation.
- Take part in end-of-shift team meetings.
- Communicate, when necessary, with the person responsible for the user regarding their health.
- Contact the on-call nurse when questions arise about a user’s health and/or medication.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of users.
- Respect users’ schedules at all times.
- Be present and attentive whenever a user wakes up: presence, active listening, etc..
- Uphold the vision of Fondation Papillon.
- Enforce the rules of Répits Papillon – Montréal and the Papillon Day Centre.
- Demonstrate professionalism and set a positive example.
- Participate in mandatory team meetings.
- Maintain a positive, energetic, and healthy work environment.

PROFILE
- Training :

- Required: a minimum of 14 hours of PSDP training accredited by ASSTSAS;
- Loi 90 training is an asset.

- Experience or knowledge of people with disabilities or special needs is an asset.
- Students in a related field are welcome (nursing, beneficiary attendant, medicine, paramedic, etc.).
- Fluency in French.
- Autonomy, thoroughness, and resourcefulness.
