CAMP PAPILLON SUMMER STAYS AND PAPILLON RESPITES - LANAUDIÈRE
CAMP COUNSELOR
Fondation Papillon, a non-profit organization, is a hub of resources and support for individuals with disabilities, their families and community stakeholders. It offers adapted services enabling people with special needs to reach their full potential, as well as meeting the needs of their families.
Located in Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez in the Lanaudière region, Camp Papillon is one of the largest adapted summer camps in North America and, since its opening in 1938, has welcomed more than 100,000 campers living with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Its mission is to offer the opportunity to participate in the outdoor life during an unforgettable stay in an enchanting, safe environment adapted to their needs. We are committed to ensuring the happiness and well-being of our campers by sharing the “Papillon Magic” with them.
NURSES AND NURSING ASSISTANTS

We are currently looking to fill nurses and nursing assistant positions.
ROLE
Under the supervision of the Nursing Coordinator and Camp Papillon Director, the Nursing Assistant works with the clinical team to ensure the well-being and good health of campers during their stay.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess the physical and mental condition of campers on arrival and during their stay (Inf.);
- Write and update clinical follow-up tools for campers;
- Provide nursing care in collaboration with nurses, nursing assistants and patient care workers (PSS);
- Supervise orderlies (Bill 90) when necessary;
- Respond to emergency situations (campers and staff);
- Administer first aid;
- Organize transfers to a medical clinic or health care facility within the network, when required;
- Communicate with parents in situations related to the camper’s health;
- Collaborate with the camp team to maintain good communication;
- Collaborate with the nurse in charge to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.
DESIRED PROFILE
- Diploma of Collegial Studies in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing or DEP in Health, Assistance and Nursing;
- Member in good standing of the OIIQ or OIIAQ;
- Up-to-date CPR;
- Available full-time or part-time, day or evening;
- Experience/knowledge of disabled clientele (intellectual and physical disabilities);
- Fluency in French;
- Autonomy, thoroughness and resourcefulness;
- Team spirit and ability to work as part of a team;
- Autonomy and initiative;
- Excellent clinical judgment;
- Organizational skills.

NIGHT WATCHMAN

We’re currently looking to fill Night watchman positions for Répits Papillon – Lanaudière at Camp Papillon.
ROLE
Under the supervision of Camp Papillon’s Assistant Director, the Night Watchman works with the camp managers and coordinators to ensure the well-being of campers and make their stay unforgettable.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review specific notes in each camper’s file;
- Ensure the safety, well-being and hygiene of overnight guests;
- Assist users in their activities of daily living (ADLs), while respecting their autonomy:
- Assist with hygiene care;
- Assist with dressing;
- Assist with mobilization;
- Respect users’ schedules at all times;
- Be present with users at all times;
- Maintain the cleanliness of the premises;
- Promote the vision of the Papillon Foundation;
- Enforce Camp Papillon rules and set an example;
- Participate in team meetings;
- Maintain a positive, energetic and healthy work environment;
- Follow mandatory training offered by the Papillon Foundation;
- Complete documents for users in his/her care.
PROFILE SOUGHT
- The person must stay awake all night;
- PDSP (Principles for Safe Person Handling and Mobility) training is an asset; training can be done directly at Camp Papillon;
- Experience/knowledge of customers with disabilities or special needs an asset.
- Student in a related field an asset (special education, social work, recreation intervention, beneficiary attendant, etc.);
- Fluency in French;
- Autonomy, thoroughness and resourcefulness;
- Team spirit and cooperation.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Workplace: Camp Papillon (210, rue Papillon, Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez, J0K1W0, QC);
- Full-time or part-time position (Thursday to Sunday; 3 weekends per month);
- Possibility of continuing employment during summer camp stays in 2025;
- Transportation available from Place Versailles in Montreal;

PAPILLON RESPITE STAYS - MONTRÉAL AND PAPILLON DAY CENTER FOR ADULTS
Health Care Attendants
Fondation Papillon, a non-profit organization, is a hub of resources and support for individuals with disabilities, their families and community stakeholders. It offers adapted services enabling people with special needs to reach their full potential, as well as meeting the needs of their families.
Répits Papillon – Montréal is a peaceful haven offering weekend respite stays for individuals living with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, or with autism spectrum disorder. In fully renovated facilities located in downtown Montreal, a dedicated team of animators and nursing staff welcomes up to 14 users aged 3 and over in a safe, warm, and family-oriented environment. Stays are organized by age group.
We are currently seeking Health Care Attendants for Répits Papillon – Montréal.
ROLE
Under the supervision of the administrative team and the nursing care coordinator, you will actively contribute to the well-being of our users. You will be responsible for administering medication, providing hygiene care, supporting daily living activities (ADLs), and coordinating certain logistical aspects related to care.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Administer and distribute medication.
- Manage the clinic’s inventory:
-
- Check and reorganize medical supplies;
- Take inventory of care products.

- Assist users in their daily living activities (ADLs) while respecting their autonomy:
-
- Provide hygiene care;
- Assist with dressing, depending on users’ abilities (partial or total assistance);
- Help with mobility;
- Assist with feeding (appropriate textures, thickened liquids, allergies, intolerances, feeding those who require it).

- Support users during activities (when available, outside of care periods) and encourage participation.
- Take part in end-of-shift team meetings.
- Communicate, when necessary, with the person responsible for the user regarding their health.
- Contact the on-call nurse when questions arise about a user’s health and/or medication.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of users.
- Respect users’ schedules at all times.
- Be present and attentive whenever a user wakes up: presence, active listening, etc..
- Uphold the vision of Fondation Papillon.
- Enforce the rules of Répits Papillon – Montréal and the Papillon Day Centre.
- Demonstrate professionalism and set a positive example.
- Participate in mandatory team meetings.
- Maintain a positive, energetic, and healthy work environment.
- Comply with the principles set out in the “Employee Guide” of Fondation Papillon.
PROFILE
- Training :

- Required: a minimum of 14 hours of PSDP training accredited by ASSTSAS;
- Loi 90 training is an asset.

- Experience or knowledge of people with disabilities or special needs is an asset.
- Students in a related field are welcome (nursing, beneficiary attendant, medicine, paramedic, etc.).
- Fluency in French.
- Autonomy, thoroughness, and resourcefulness.
- Team spirit and collaboration skills.
