Défi Vélo Papillon 2026: $121,813 Raised for Camp Papillon

28 August 2026
Nearly 500 people came together on August 22 for the 19th edition of the Défi Vélo Papillon, powered by Arbour. Under bright sunshine, cyclists, walkers and runners took on a challenge suited to them while supporting one shared cause: Camp Papillon.
This remarkable show of support helped raise $121,813 for Camp Papillon. These funds will directly help provide adapted camp stays for individuals with disabilities.
In total, participants covered more than 28,000 kilometres throughout the day! Among them, 390 cyclists took part in the various cycling routes, while 53 participants chose one of the walking or running routes. The event also brought together 33 teams made up of colleagues, friends and families who took on the challenge together.
With seven cycling routes and three walking and running routes, the Défi Vélo Papillon once again gave participants the opportunity to choose a distance suited to their abilities and personal goals.
“What makes the Défi Vélo Papillon so special is seeing so many different people come together around Camp Papillon. Some are here to take on a sporting challenge, others to support someone close to them, form a team or simply support the cause. But in the end, every kilometre covered contributes to the same goal: helping more people experience Camp Papillon,” says Suzy Guérin, Executive Director of the Papillon Foundation.
A collective effort that goes far beyond the routes
The success of the Défi Vélo Papillon also depends on the dedication of many people working behind the scenes. More than 50 volunteers were on site and along the routes to welcome participants, help ensure the event ran smoothly and contribute to the energy of the day.
Participants also reached out to their networks to raise funds, while donors, partners and collaborators joined forces to help make this edition a success.
“Seeing nearly 500 people come together for the Défi Vélo Papillon and cover more than 28,000 kilometres is impressive. For us, being associated with this event is a concrete way to support Camp Papillon while also contributing to an exceptional show of community support in our region. We are very proud to power the Défi Vélo Papillon,” says Christian Arbour, President of Les Entreprises Christian Arbour.
For Camp Papillon
Behind the kilometres covered and the funds raised are, above all, the campers who enjoy the unique Camp Papillon experience every year. Nathan Renaud Beaudin, ambassador for the Défi Vélo Papillon, is one of the faces of that experience.
“Camp Papillon is a place where I can have fun, do lots of activities and see my friends. It makes me really happy to see so many people take part in the Défi Vélo to help the Camp,” says Nathan.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who cycled, walked, ran, donated or gave their time to help make this day a success.
Thanks to you, every kilometre truly makes a difference.
