About us
Fostering Autonomy for Young Adults with Disabilities
The Papillon Day Center supports young adults aged 21 and over, Monday through Friday, following the completion of their schooling. In addition to combating the isolation experienced by these young adults with disabilities, the Papillon Day Center for adults offers them the opportunity to strengthen their autonomy and socialization skills through skill-maintenance activities.
Papillon Day Center
Our Purpose
Our aim is to alleviate isolation and enhance autonomy and socialization skills for young adults aged 21 and over who attend the Papillon Day Center. Activities are thoughtfully planned and adapted to each individual to respect their pace and abilities.
Led by experienced managers, our team comprises dedicated facilitators and personnel trained in accordance with Bill 90. Thus, we are capable of providing care to users, administering medication, and assisting with feeding. The Papillon Day Center for adults plays a crucial role. By supporting young adults with disabilities, we also enable their parents to continue their professional activities, engage in their daily responsibilities, and provide for their families’ needs. Thus, we prevent situations where many parents are forced to interrupt their careers to assume full-time care responsibilities, which can lead to financial difficulties and physical and mental exhaustion. We believe in each individual’s capacity to realize their full potential, and by working collaboratively with parents and users, we create an environment where a strong sense of belonging fosters the maintenance of autonomy.
