Located in Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez, Lanaudière, Camp Papillon is one of the largest adapted summer camps in North America. Since its opening in 1938, it has welcomed over 100,000 children with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to offer these children the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors during an unforgettable stay in a magical, safe, and fully accessible environment.

Stays at Camp Papillon
Each stay at Camp Papillon offers a variety of outdoor, sports, and artistic activities, encouraging campers to excel while respecting their limits. To optimize the experience for everyone, Camp Papillon schedules stays based on the age and level of autonomy of the campers.

- Autonomous: Individuals with mild intellectual or physical disabilities who can independently manage their care and transfers. Ratio: 1 counselor per 4 campers.
- Semi-Autonomous: Individuals with physical disabilities, with or without mild intellectual disabilities. Ratio: 1 counselor per 2 campers.
- Multi: Individuals with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, with or without associated physical disabilities. Ratio: 1 counselor per 2 campers.
- Multi+: Individuals requiring constant support (e.g., risk of running away, behavioral issues). Ratio: 1 counselor per 1 camper.
The stays include accommodation, meals, snacks, various care services, supervision, and participation in multiple activities. Round-trip transportation to Camp Papillon is available under certain conditions.
Certified by the Association des Camps du Québec
The “Certified Camp” seal identifies camps inspected by the Association des Camps du Québec (ACQ), meeting over 80 standards that ensure safety, supervision, programming, environment, and nutrition.

The registration period for Camp Papillon’s summer 2024 stays is now closed.
Eligibility:
Campers of all ages who wish to attend Camp Papillon must have a physical and/or intellectual disability or be on the autism spectrum, and must not have aggressive behavior issues.
3-Step Registration Process :
Since space is limited, we recommend you proceed with the camper’s pre-registration without delay. We operate on a “first come, first served” basis.
1. Pre-Registration
To have a camper stay at Camp Papillon, you must first read the pre-registration booklet and then complete the online pre-registration form. This is the first step in the selection process.
2. Application Review
Every pre-registration application received is reviewed by the Camp’s management to ensure we can provide a safe and high-quality experience for the camper.
3. Official Registration
Campers whose pre-registration is accepted will receive the necessary information to complete the official registration for the camp stay.
Rates
Accommodation Fees:
The cost of staying at Camp Papillon varies based on the duration of the stay, the camper’s age, and their level of independence. Financial assistance is available from the Papillon Foundation, depending on the family’s income.
Administration Fees:
A $60 administrative fee will be applied to campers registered for a stay.
Destination C.A.M.P. Camp Papillon is proud to be a Destination C.A.M.P. host camp.

- Pre-registration: Complete the online form. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
- However, pre-registered camper files undergo a thorough review by our Day Camp management and care team to ensure we can meet each camper’s specific needs.
- Pre-registration is the initial step, and it does not guarantee automatic placement.
File Review - Official registration for campers granted a spot.
- Generally, we accept campers from the age of 5, but exceptions may be considered after evaluation by management.
There is no age limit.
Campers with physical and/or intellectual disabilities or those living with autism spectrum disorder can join us at Camp Papillon, regardless of their level of autonomy.
Yes, subject to availability. Our goal is to accommodate as many campers as possible. If a session has openings, we’ll gladly offer you a spot.
No, but subject to availability, you can rent a cottage on our site to be close to your child.
Yes, under certain conditions. Please arrange this with our User Records Manager, Laury Guérin-Michaud, before the start of the stay at 514 937-6171, ext. 229.
Yes, with written notice to the Papillon Foundation at least 30 days before the session start date.

Accommodation fees are refundable only if the cancellation deadline is met. However, Camp Papillon may grant a partial refund for medical reasons, in certain cases only. Medical proof will be required.
Yes. An RL-24 slip will be sent to you before the end of February for the previous year’s stay at Camp Papillon. The Social Insurance Number (SIN) and residential address of the person responsible for the user are required for issuing the RL-24 slip.

- The Papillon Foundation automatically provides financial aid based on the camper’s family income. Our rates are adjusted accordingly.
- The Benny&Co. Foundation also offers stays at Camp Papillon to certain campers. For details, contact Laury Guérin-Michaud, User Records Manager at 514 937-6171, ext. 229.
- Camp Papillon is a host camp for Destination C.A.M.P., an initiative of l’Association des Camps du Québec (ACQ) that enables free camp stays for young people aged 11 to 17.
