On Saturday, May 24, more than 150 volunteers gathered at Camp Papillon for the Arbour Big Work Bee, an annual day of volunteer work dedicated to maintaining and upgrading the camp’s site and infrastructure before the summer arrival of campers living with disabilities. This large-scale community effort, led with heart by Christian and Mikaël Arbour of Les Entreprises Christian Arbour, once again showcased the generosity and solidarity that define the skilled tradespeople and companies of the Lanaudière region.

Concrete efforts with a lasting impact

Thanks to the involvement of many trades, electricians, plumbers, roofers, masons, glaziers, refrigeration specialists, and more, major improvements were completed in just one day: installation of solar street lights, hot water tanks, new roofing, replacement of the walk-in cooler, air conditioning systems, masonry work, tree clearing, full cleanup of the Enchanted Forest, and more.

These are all tangible upgrades that help Camp Papillon remain a safe, functional, and welcoming space for children and adults living with disabilities.

Dedicated and united collaborators

The management of Camp Papillon wishes to highlight the remarkable mobilization of local companies, mostly from Lanaudière, who generously contributed their time, labor, and materials.

Among them:

Les Entreprises Christian Arbour, FM Électrique, Plomberie Joliette, Thermomax, Vitrerie Joliette, PDG Terrassement, Thomas Réfrigération, Bellemare Couverture, Aluminium André Gagnon, Béton Adam, Patrick Morin, Solutions Multi-Équipements, Takebak, Maçonnerie MC, BYPV Énergies inc., Martin Lafrenière Excavation, Denis Meagher, André Ménard, Équipe Tommy Robillard, Les Industries Mélymax inc., Guillevin International, and Benny&Co.

Fondation Papillon warmly thanks all volunteers and partners for their time, skills, and material support. Their commitment allows Camp Papillon to continue its mission in the best possible conditions.
