The 29th edition of the Louis Coutu Golf Classic sets a new record with $510,000 raised for the Papillon Foundation
On September 24, the Louis Coutu Golf Classic took place under radiant skies at Club de golf Le Mirage. Presented by Jean Coutu, this flagship event for the Papillon Foundation brought together 288 golfers and raised a net total of $510,000, a new record for this 29th edition of the event. The funds raised will contribute to supporting all the services offered by the Papillon Foundation to individuals with disabilities.
Inspiring honorary co-chairs
Under the honorary co-chairmanship of Jean-Michel Coutu, President of METRO’s pharmacy division, and Alexandre Bilodeau, Olympic gold medallist in freestyle skiing and co-founder of A2 Partners, the Classique highlighted the long-standing commitment of participants and partners to the Papillon Foundation. Their testimonials underscored the importance of the funds raised to maintain and develop the Foundation’s services, which for nearly a century have been dedicated to improving the quality of life of children and adults with disabilities.
“The Papillon Foundation achieves essential work by providing services and support to children with disabilities and their families, notably with Camp Papillon, which enables these youngsters to enjoy memorable experiences that we often take for granted,” said Jean-Michel Coutu.
Beyond golf
In addition to generous donations, an interactive auction mobilized golfers and guests, raising $43,805 through highly sought-after items. Once again, the unwavering support of the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation, a loyal ally of the Papillon Foundation, was essential to the success of the event.
Papillon ambassadors on the green: sharing unforgettable moments!
Throughout the day, golfers had the pleasure of meeting three of the Foundation’s ambassadors: Célia, Michel and Patrick, who enthusiastically shared their know-how by giving advice and joining in the action on the 18th hole. Their presence highlighted the importance of the Foundation’s services for the people it supports.
A valuable contribution to an essential cause
The Foundation’s Executive Director, Suzy Guérin, expressed her gratitude: « This 29th edition of the Louis Coutu Golf Classic once again demonstrates that the solidarity of our community makes a tangible difference. Thanks to all our partners and participants, the Foundation can continue to provide thousands of families with access to its many adapted services. We are deeply grateful. »
The Papillon Foundation would like to extend its warmest appreciation to the Jean Coutu Network, the event’s main partner, as well as to all sponsors, participants, donors and volunteers for their continued support.
